Welcoming twins into the world must feel like a singular experience filled with all the usual excitement with an increased touch of chaos. While most of my newborn clients are singletons, every once in a while I get the fun of twins. Of course twin mamas want to make sure their newborn photographer has experience with multiples. That’s me! I think these cuties are my 5th or so set of multiples. In my experience they often seem the most comfortable when they are next to each other. This makes my job as professional baby soother just a little easier!
The challenge with twins is to both capture their beautiful, unique connection as well as ensuring they each get portraits solo. As a photographer and a mom, I get that you want to see your children as separate individuals as well as part of a family unit. One of the joys of twin newborn photography, either in the client’s home or in the studio, is to create images that celebrate the duo’s personalities and interests. Some parents opt for coordinating outfits and accessories that reflect their babies’ shared identity. Others embrace individuality with personalized touches that highlight each child’s unique traits. This family opted to include sweet wooden signs with each twin’s full name, birth weight and time.
Through a deep appreciation for the magic of this stage of life, I strive to capture moments that transcend time. The goal is to preserve memories that will be cherished forever. As families embark on the journey of parenthood, I hope these precious images serve as a testament to their joy, love, and wonder.
