I’ll admit, this session is of my own son, my littlest guy Joey. It just so happens that a year ago I had dear friends come into the studio for their son’s 6 month session and they left me with some half birthday swag for future use. I was super grateful but also unsure, at the time, if I’d use it. Well, fast forward to a year and a ton more experience later and I think “Obviously I will use it”! Not to mention, I realized I had the perfect subject, my own 6 month old. Poor guy is having an experience unusual to a second child – he is my human guinea pig for session ideas I have. Luckily he is a sweet kiddo easy to smile so it’s really not a burden to anyone to get him to sit for these test sessions.
How great did this turn out too? I was able to use my newborn bucket and learn that it works double duty for an almost sitting baby! Also a must? Keeping the baby away from the cake. He’s still not old enough to chew, let alone the sugar bomb that is cake plus frosting. While he wasn’t crawling quite yet at this point, he could still roll to the places he wants to go. Imagine a rolled over cake and the slippery baby mess it would make!
Anyways, I’m on the hunt for my next half-year session, so book one with me today!
