Last week was one of my very first maternity shoots and boy, did we get some good ones. Laura is my great friend and podcast co-host (listen on iTunes!) and is almost 8 months pregnant with her second baby boy. I was excited to finally use a maternity photo shoot dress I bought at my Ana Brandt Newborn Workshop in NYC in July, a gorgeous gray that set off against Laura’s dark hair perfectly. Obviously I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to throw the fabulous train the gown has around, and am grateful to my photo assistant for the day (aka my agreeable husband) who was surprisingly adept at throwing fabric around artfully, according to my instructions. I love love love the maternity photos we got, and plan to do all future outdoor maternity sessions at that gorgeous golden hour. Take a look at the light in these photos! I’m excited to shoot her, her baby boy and the other two men in her life (aka her husband and toddler son) when he comes in late October for his newborn session!
