6 Month Sitter Session | Eastchester, NY

One of the best parts of my job is watching families grow. Today’s 6 month old, when I last saw him, was as his mama’s baby bump! His parents booked me for their maternity session with enough advance notice that they were one of the first people outside of my family who knew about my own pregnancy. As it happens, H. was born one day before my own son. He doesn’t know it yet, but they are going to be BFFs if I have anything to do with it. Friendships with other moms going through the same baby milestones as you are was critical for me as a new mom.

Clients always ask me what my favorite type of session is, and I can’t name one type! However, I do absolutely love 6 month olds. The baby has a personality, makes eye contact and smiles. As a parent you have recovered somewhat from the exhausting early days, and have a slight sense of routine. Babies change a lot over the course of their first year. The most notable changes are from birth to 3 months, then to 6 months and from 6 months to 12 months.

For parents who maybe didn’t book a photographer before their baby’s birth, or who found the early days too hard to make a newborn photoshoot happen, a sitter session is fantastic. It’s a wonderful way to capture their “littleness”, while skipping those early weeks when you don’t feel your best.
