I can’t promise that I’ll be able to do a recap for all of my 2020 sessions (there are LOTS). Hopefully I can, but in the meantime here are my 2020 newborns! It was a wild year, starting out great, with about 8 babies before lockdown started in mid-March. Then the studio came to a grinding halt as my studio was closed through the middle of June. I was somewhat apprehensive at the time about replacing studio sessions with outdoor things like porch sessions so I just waited until we got solid info from the state. Finally, we were able to open and as soon as I did I got in several babies that were born during this lockdown. It mad me so sad to have these wrenching conversations with new or heavily expectant moms who couldn’t get the newborn session of their dreams. It is my hope though, that with an “older” newborn session, or the 6 month sessions some opted for, that they got memories they will cherish. Also wild are the outdoor newborn sessions I did. That was kind of it’s own unique fun, sometimes directing parents on wrapping from afar. She’s not pictured here but I even did a FaceTime “session” – using this term loosely – with my very own newborn niece! Being a newborn photographer in 2020 had its challenges but I’m grateful for my clients, they were all just lovely and understanding about everything.
I look forward to a better year, with a vaccine coming through for us normies (e.g. not high-risk or essential) as soon as humanely possible. In the meantime, I’ll be posting my COVID policies here soon. I get so many questions as I chat with new parents, I thought it would be a helpful go-to resource as you research your photographers.
Happy New Year everyone!
