Today’s little guy was scheduled before the pandemic, and I was all excited for his early May due date. Well, 2020 had other plans and I wasn’t able to bring him into the studio in the ideal 9-18 day window. The studio was closed from mid-March to mid-June. When I posted that I was be allowed to open up, his mama jumped at the chance. Baby B. was my oldest ever newborn – which is crazy to think of a newborn at all “old” – at 7 weeks. I generally don’t recommend it in normal times, as babies are overall more alert, less amenable to swaddling and have stretched out from those early, curly womb-like days.
Luckily, this babe was a dream baby. He was sleepy, and let me post him like any other 10 day old. His parents were delightful, and it became a family affair when I shot his cousin’s 6 month portraits a few months later. All in all I think I got lucky with this particular newborn session, both because he was a good little guy and because he’s so stinkin cute!
