Since twins are so rare in general, naturally it is also rare for me to book one in the studio. Today’s babies were special, of course, for that reason but also they are my neighbors! With any luck, they’ll be going to school with my older boys some day.
Every time I take newborn twin portraits I am always left feeling in awe of twin parents. That is one hard job! As expected, whenever one baby was settled, the other needed to eat and so on. The upside of that is whenever that happened, we’d snap the settled baby’s solo newborn portraits. It’s important to snag them on their own, and not think of them only as a unit.
Mama was happy with the ideas I had, and feeling great so she jumped right in for further baby wrangling. The babies are boy/girl twins, so I had fun with my headband and bonnet collection. Of course, that also means everything gets doubly sanitized – the laundry pile was definitely larger than usual for this session.
In the end we achieved portraits I’m proud of and I know their parents and older siblings will enjoy forever.
