This mama did the literal legwork and found our session location herself, luckily right near her home. She has friendly neighbors who allowed us to climb (yes she’s 34 weeks pregnant here, walking up a hill), to the top of a hill on their farm’s property, As a result we got some incredible sunset views and images for this mama.
What I haven’t told you yet is that it was 35 degrees throughout this maternity session! Anyone who is or who has been pregnant will understand that you are walking around with your own personal space heater attached to you. As a result, C. was doing pretty well and happy to walk around. Her partner, though, was a real trooper and stuck with it well past the point when a lot of dads get sassy.
Since I’m behind on sessions, I have already photographed her sweet son’s newborn session, which I will post soon! In the meantime, I am so honored so capture maternity clients, and have a soft spot for first time parents. I get to stamp in time this most fleeting of moments – that in between time when they aren’t quite parents but are fully cognizant that they are about to be. The wonder of it all is magical. As a parent myself, I want to grab them and say “THIS IS AN AMAZING TIME!”. Yet, I know how I was at this stage – uncomfortable, excited, and just ready to meet my child. So I rarely say it. Sometimes.
