It is quite possibly my favorite thing as a family photographer to see families grow. I’m always humbled when a family comes back to me for more sessions. Today’s family came to me a year ago for their daughter’s cake smash, one year old portraits, and family photos. She was such a good girl, so gentle and sweet, wandering around the studio here and there but pretty much staying put. I was thrilled to hear they were expecting their second baby, Obviously I was even more excited that they asked me to shoot a hybrid newborn photo shoot and 2 year old birthday portrait.
Little M and her big sister E were rock stars! M was sleepy for her newborn photos and her sister just loved holding her and kissing her. She was kissing her so much that mom and dad had to gently step in and give M a break from all the kissing. As a mom of two little kids myself I understood that moment. While lovely to see your newly minted siblings being loving, toddlers are walking germs. Newborns get sick quickly from our germ-y world so you can’t be too careful.
We then went out onto the family’s amazing balcony overlooking the neighborhood for some family photographs. All in all just further confirmation that I love my job!
