The first year of your baby’s life is hard. One could argue it’s the hardest. That could especially be true when you are a first time parent, without a road-map for this tiny human. I’m not going to call it until I experience having a teenager, personally. That said, infants are truly hard. Therefore, when you’ve all made it a year it is a time worth celebrating! Sure there’s toddler-dom to contend with, but you survived and that’s amazing.
Today’s parents also wanted to commemorate a truly amazing head of hair on little J. while marking the occasion of him being a year old. They didn’t bring a cake to smash, but J. was happy to play with a ball or some trains while we captured his sweet personality. Cake smashes aren’t everyone’s jam! J. wasn’t sure what to make of me or the light. He had the typical look of confusion at first, that many one-year-olds have when faced with a flashing light. In the end he warmed up and particularly loved being held by at least one of his parents.
When the weather permits, parents request and time allows, we ventured out for some outdoor photos at the end for a less formal look. Little man took that in stride too, and was generally a sweet, chill dude I was thrilled to capture portraits of.
