All of my families are special in their own ways and each one is a joy to shoot. There are a few times when things fall into place that make for a unique, special kind of magical photo shoot. This session is one of those magical photo shoots that certainly fits the bill. My client chose a beautiful setting, we had fantastic weather for late November, and these three were incredibly photogenic and comfortable in front of the camera. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky! Little T. and I had a good rapport, and it helps that he’s the same age as my older son. He just took to me and was happy to do what I asked of him, especially when it involved throwing leaves. I guess it’s not the biggest ask of a 3 year old, since who among them doesn’t love to throw leaves?
Mom and Dad were patient and delightful to work with. Dad was happy to throw the 30 pound preschooler around, get him to snuggle, dive into the leaves, and so on. We were even happy that digging around in the leaves didn’t seem to tickle anyone’s allergies! Now, I call that a win.
Just look at that delicious late fall sunlight! I kept them a bit longer than I needed to since the light was so gorgeous. Due to my subject’s baby and/or toddler sleep and dinner times, I don’t often get to shoot these sunset photos. As I said, everything just clicked and I’m so thrilled to share this session with you.
