A few weeks ago I finally got to do what I’d been waiting months and months to do – shoot my dear friend (and podcast co-host) Laura’s newborn as well as a combined family photo shoot of the entire new family of four! You may remember her maternity shoot, which I shot back in early September. I was so excited to capture both pregnancy and newborn – my first combo! Our sons were born a week apart, and she and I have been friends since they were about 7 weeks old, so this session was really special. Little Charlie was your typical older sibling toddler on a photo shoot – totally awesome for the first 15-20 minutes and then absolutely uninterested in anything me or his parents wanted him to do. That said, he made the most of those 15 minutes and gave us some amazing shots, making his parents laugh by lounging against dad, and mugging for the camera next to his little brother. After that, we released the poor kid to my son’s company, and I got photos of mom and dad soaking in their 10 day old newborn, little T. He was somewhat awake during the shoot, loving the swaddling we did, but just generally being your typical chill second child.
I was just thrilled to be a part of the journey of this new addition to the family and am honored to be a part of their lives!
