As a newborn photographer, I find the importance of education extremely important. Newborn photography requires skill for calming and posing baby for sure. More importantly the safety of the baby is paramount. Safety has always been my number one concern since working with babies. Therefore, when I wanted to take my newborn portraits to the next level I knew I needed an experienced guide. I wanted to be able to achieve more advanced poses like the froggy, that you see here:
I was fortunate enough to take a one-on-one workshop from the extremely talented newborn photographer Jess Vastola of Buffalo Baby Photography. She’s been shooting newborns for over 7 years, and was an open, funny instructor. Even better was the fact that I have a lot of family in the Buffalo area, and know it relatively well!
This family was a gorgeous new family of 4, welcoming a new baby boy who was 14 days old at the time of the shoot. Mom’s red hair contrasted beautifully with the background. I knew that this rich brown background color would be coming into my collection soon!
I got to photograph so many amazing babies during the workshop and really expanded and refined my skills. More of my pictures from this session will be coming to the site soon!
