Sometimes you luck into a client who both has a beautiful, light filled home as well as being fun to shoot. This family portrait session fit that description. She came to me via another amazing client, who had purchased the First Year Milestone package of Newborn, 6 month and 1 year shoots.
Baby M. was already 7 months old when we chatted about what she was looking for, so we went with an abbreviated 7 month + 1 year combination. I’m very much looking forward to her 1 year shoot too. It is so special and fun when clients purchase these packages, getting to watch their little ones grow and change. It happens so fast! I think I need to make annual growth packages a thing (2 year, 3 year, etc) so I can stay in touch with all of my amazing families and see who the babies become. As I photograph them their little personalities always come out. It would be fun to see whether my guess as to what they’ll be like rings true.
Baby M. was an adorable, squeezable little gal, but don’t be fooled by her amazing baby-ness! She required that you earn her smile, but remained relaxed and chill the whole session. She’s in that sweet spot where she’s just crawling but not insistent on moving constantly, and hasn’t realized that she could just be a blur in the photos yet. That usually comes at the cake smash/first birthday shoot where both parent and photographer are required to be full-time baby wranglers!
Mom and Dad were also relaxed and up for anything I asked of them, even hunting around for the ideal curtain tie to hold their curtains open! This family was a delight.
