I’m finally catching up on blogging my 2020 sessions! I have a wall of bookings from September through mid-December so while that is a good reminder to ensure you are thinking about your 2021 sessions early, it is also to say that I barely have time to blog.
Late last fall I started to provide a smash cake to my clients as part of their session fee. I have to say it seems to take a bit of the pressure off of them. They just show up with balloons and an outfit or two and we are off to the races! Sweet L.’s big sister joined for a bit, a theme I’ve noticed lately. I don’t blame big sis C. – if one likes cake, one generally doesn’t enjoy watching others eat it without wanting at least a taste!
Their mama was really smart – her girls’ birthdays are close, so she brought a number 3 balloon and gave big sister some portrait time, celebrating her third birthday with a mini session while her dad cleaned up L. from her cake smash.
We started the session in a field near the studio, with some family portraits. The family made excellent use of my styling service, don’t you think?
Contact me today to talk about a family session, cake smash session or my styling service! You can check out my available smash cakes as well here! They are made by my friend, pastry chef Selvia Tjandra-Stothers, who runs Mixing Bowl. Make sure you check her out either way, as she shares wonderful recipes and holistic living tips.
