Baby girl F.’s mom was so prepared, she brought coordinating balloon weights. I love a detail-oriented family! For this sweet new one-year-old, we skipped the cake smash and just did some fun setups with the little one. We changed out the decorations to make it fresh each time. F.’s parents even brought the sweetest little blue chair I’ve ever seen – I see a Home Goods visit in my future.
We gave F. the balloons to hold, with a little bit of encouragement, and it made for darling photos! After a few setups it was clear Miss F. was nearly ready to be done. After all, it had been about an hour – she was really patient with us. Generally I keep my first birthday photo sessions to 90 minutes. Usually by the hour mark the kiddo hits their limit on smiling, looking this way and that, and generally sitting still.
Moving on to parent portraits is great, and they love a little cuddle from mom and dad. I got some really sweet shots of F. with her mom, and I hope they cherish these forever!
