Little C.’s mama came to this session with a very clear vision of her look, and I was all about it. She provided a few inspiration pictures and we worked together to assemble the final props and setup. She has great taste and ended up providing most of the props we used. Look at this beauty! Also helpful: a very photogenic backyard. The L. family lives a little bit north in Westchester so we had a perfect about of space and land to play around in. Our sweet one year old was smiley, active and such a trooper during the session. I say this all the time – not every baby is that into cake, so who knows what will happen when you put the smash cake in front of them. C. seemed to really like it, but wasn’t too aggressive in her cake eating technique, she just slowly and steadily enjoyed her first taste of sugar. Her mom did have to cut it off at a certain point (it was right before dinner after all), but she was quite content with what she was able to eat.
My clients continually surprise me in wonderful ways – this mama was newly pregnant with C.’s sibling! So she asked to do a quick pregnancy announcement, which of course! It was so neat that this all lined up. I wish this darling growing family the best of luck going from one to two.
