This lovely family picked a gorgeous spot in Waveny Park for their outdoor family portraits. These photos included the grandparents and the dog, which was a first for me – I’m used to one or the other, so it was great experience to wrangle both (and when it comes to grandparents, there’s definitely some slight wrangling). Waveny Park is a gorgeous place with what must have once been an estate – there is a large mansion on the property that happened to be hosting a wedding later on in the evening. I can totally see why – there are gorgeous trees and grasses on the property, and no other homes/distractions as far as the eye can see. Therefore, it is a pretty popular spot for photo shoots as we were one of 4 family photo sessions that I could spot, just in a 50 foot radius! While we had a fairly chilly day, the weather wasn’t cloudy or rainy, and shooting time was at the lovely golden hour that you might hear a photographer speak reverently of. It certainly didn’t hurt that my main clients, a little family of three, were incredibly photogenic, with even the grandparents showing off where the family got their genes from.
We pulled my picnic blanket into service as a baby warmer, which doubled as providing an extra fall look to the already gorgeous seasonal colors coming from the location. Sweet baby L. was patient enough to let us get not only shots with her parents but also individual and group portraits of her with her grandparents. And can I just mention the dog? Take a look at this gorgeous girl, who was an absolute dream animal – calm and alert, but not barking or running around. My dog would have just been losing her mind, so Simba (her name) made me feel quite lucky!
